Enterprise adds white-glove onboarding, a plan tailored to the company, a dedicated SSO setup service and priority support. On the four self-serve plans, each seat gets 100 monthly credits for Trellis, Sprout's AI agent, plus the iOS and Android app, and live phone and chat support run 24/5.
What 1, 3, 5 and 10 seats cost on Sprout Social
Each cell shows the monthly equivalent, with the yearly total in brackets. That yearly total is due at the start: the pricing page FAQ describes annual billing as a one-time upfront payment for the whole term.
Seats (annual billing) | Essentials | Standard | Professional | Advanced |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | $79 ($948) | $199 ($2,388) | $299 ($3,588) | $399 ($4,788) |
3 | $237 ($2,844) | $597 ($7,164) | $897 ($10,764) | $1,197 ($14,364) |
5 | $395 ($4,740) | $995 ($11,940) | $1,495 ($17,940) | $1,995 ($23,940) |
10 | $790 ($9,480) | $1,990 ($23,880) | $2,990 ($35,880) | $3,990 ($47,880) |
Monthly or annual billing?
Monthly prices appear in the FAQ at the bottom of the pricing page: $99 for Essentials, $249 for Standard, $399 for Professional and $499 for Advanced, per seat. Committing for a year saves 20% on Essentials, Standard and Advanced, and 25% on Professional. One quirk: a Professional seat billed monthly costs exactly what an Advanced seat costs on annual billing.
Seats (monthly billing) | Essentials | Standard | Professional | Advanced |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | $99 | $249 | $399 | $499 |
3 | $297 | $747 | $1,197 | $1,497 |
5 | $495 | $1,245 | $1,995 | $2,495 |
10 | $990 | $2,490 | $3,990 | $4,990 |
Example: five people on Professional pay $1,495 a month on annual billing ($17,940 for the year). On monthly billing, the same team pays $1,995 a month, or $23,940 over twelve months: $6,000 more for a shorter commitment.
Which Sprout Social plan includes the inbox, moderation and AI replies?
Essentials is a publishing plan. Its card lists up to 5 profiles, optimal send times, profile and post reporting, and Trellis. The comparison chart marks the all-in-one inbox and comment moderation as not included, so a team that answers comments inside Sprout starts at Standard.
Standard opens the engagement tools: the inbox, keyword and brand monitoring, case management, reply collision detection, push notifications for new messages, and moderation of comments, reviews and Facebook and Instagram ad comments. If ad comments are new territory for your team, see where Meta surfaces them in how to monitor comments on Facebook ads. Two limits show up as volume grows: conversation history stops at 90 days, and saved replies are not part of this tier.
Professional lifts the profile cap and adds message tagging, saved replies, engagement reporting, and competitor, tag and paid performance reports. Its AI feature, Enhance Post by AI Assist, suggests copy for outgoing posts, not for replies.
Advanced is where inbox automation sits. The chart lists a rule builder that automates actions in the Smart Inbox and in Cases, macros for bulk actions, chatbots, case routing, approvals for replies, sentiment classification, AI tagging of messages that need a response, message spike alerts, and Enhance Reply by AI Assist. AI help on replies therefore costs $399 per seat per month billed yearly, or $1,197 a month for a care team of three.
The 5-profile limit on Essentials and Standard
Sprout counts X, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, LinkedIn company pages and personal profiles, Google My Business, TripAdvisor, Glassdoor and Yelp against the limit. Ad accounts attached to a profile, Google Analytics and non-social integrations do not count. A brand present on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube fills Standard already; connecting one review site or a WhatsApp number on top means Professional.
Sprout Social add-ons and extra costs
The seat price covers the plan only. Six products are sold on top, and the pricing page gives a price for just one of them.
Add-on | What it covers | Who can buy it | Price shown |
|---|---|---|---|
Trellis Plus | Extra credits for Trellis, the AI agent | Teams that run out of included credits | $28 per user per month billed yearly, $35 billed monthly |
Listening | AI analysis of public conversations: topic categories, sentiment scoring, spike alerts | Standard and up | None, demo |
Premium Analytics | Custom reports, advanced filters, benchmarks, shareable reports | Standard and up | None, demo |
Employee Advocacy | Curated content for employees to share, with UTM tracking | Standard and up | None, demo |
Professional Services | Strategy reviews, training, faster implementation | Standard and up, several packages | None, consultation |
Influencer Marketing | Creator discovery, campaigns, conversion tracking | No Sprout plan required | None, demo |
Trellis credits reset every month. The FAQ explains that a narrow request, such as a simple sentiment trend chart, uses few credits, while broad analyses across several sources or years use many more. For Listening or Premium Analytics, get the quote before comparing Sprout with another tool.
Does Sprout Social have a free trial?
Yes: 30 days, and no credit card is required to start. At day 30, Sprout asks for a plan choice and a payment method. The pricing page shows no free plan; the other way to see the product is a customized demo with a Sprout expert.
Sprout takes major credit cards and PayPal, and prepayment arrangements go through its sales team. US nonprofit organizations can ask for special pricing on Professional and Advanced (nonprofit pricing).
How to lower your Sprout Social bill
Count profiles before upgrading. If you stay within five profiles and can live without tagging and saved replies, Standard costs $100 less per seat each month than Professional on annual billing.
Commit for a year once headcount is stable. While people still join or leave often, monthly billing keeps the commitment short.
Trial the top tier, then step down. Plan changes are allowed at any time, even during the trial, so your team can test the rule builder and Enhance Reply and decide whether they justify paying $200 more per seat than Standard, billed yearly.
Track Trellis usage before buying Trellis Plus. On annual billing it adds $280 a month for ten users, $3,360 a year.
Who should stay on Sprout Social
For some teams, the seat price pays for work that a comment-focused tool does not cover. Sprout remains the better fit if these points describe you:
Networks Blabla does not cover. Sprout's integrations add X, Pinterest, Snapchat, Threads and Reddit to Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube, with post approvals from Professional and external reviewers who need no login on Advanced.
Review sites. Review moderation covers Trustpilot, Google My Business, TripAdvisor, Glassdoor, Yelp, Facebook and the Apple and Google app stores.
Listening and benchmarks. The Listening add-on, competitor reports for Facebook, X and Instagram, and paid social performance reports.
A care desk wired to Salesforce or Zendesk. Advanced connects Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Marketo and runs CSAT and NPS surveys; the WhatsApp integration starts at Standard.
Security checklists. IP whitelisting and feature visibility controls on Advanced, the SSO setup service on Enterprise.

The per-workspace alternative for comment-heavy teams
Some teams buy Sprout seats mostly to keep comment sections under control: spam under ads, the same product question fifty times, insults on a campaign post. Each new moderator then adds a full seat to the bill.
Example: a brand with four community managers who handle Instagram, Facebook and TikTok comments, including comments on Meta ads. On Sprout, ad comment moderation means Standard at least: $796 a month billed yearly, or $1,596 on Advanced for rules and AI reply help. On Blabla, the same four people share one Pro workspace: 69 € a month billed yearly (99 € monthly), ad comments included. Sprout shows US dollars and Blabla euros excluding VAT, so convert at your own rate before comparing.
Sprout Social | Blabla | |
|---|---|---|
Billing unit | Per seat | Per workspace (one brand), team included |
Free option | 30-day trial, no card needed | Free plan (100 actions a month); 7-day trial without card |
Paid prices | $79 to $399 per seat per month billed yearly | Standard: 19 € per month paid yearly or 29 € monthly; Pro: 69 € per month paid yearly or 99 € monthly |
Ad comment moderation | Facebook and Instagram, from Standard | Facebook and Instagram ads and dark posts, on Pro |
AI on replies | Enhance Reply by AI Assist, on Advanced | AI replies built on your FAQ, on Standard and Pro |
Set against the Sprout tiers above, here is what that Pro workspace does. Hiding runs without anyone on shift: a comment that matches one of your keyword lists, or a rule written as a sentence such as "hide anything promoting a crypto giveaway", is hidden in real time under organic posts and under Facebook and Instagram ads and dark posts (how ad comment moderation works). Replies, suggested or sent automatically, draw on your FAQ and follow your brand voice, and a strict mode copies a saved answer exactly instead of rephrasing it. A keyword comment can also send its author a private message containing your link. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn comments share one queue with Instagram and Messenger DMs, where each conversation can be assigned. More on the moderation page.
Blabla is narrower than Sprout, and it does not publish posts yet: scheduling is coming soon. It has no listening, no review management, no X, Pinterest, Threads or WhatsApp, and fewer integrations. If those matter, split the work: Sprout seats for whoever schedules posts and builds reports, Blabla for the moderators, which trims the seat count. The Blabla vs Sprout Social comparison goes feature by feature and the pricing page lists every plan. To compare more tools, our guides to social media moderation tools and to choosing comment management software set out the criteria.
Before your next Sprout renewal
Before renewing, write down the features your team used last quarter and find the cheapest tier that holds all of them; the seat count does the rest. If most of those features concern comments, price a per-brand tool next to Sprout and run both trials on the same week of comments.
