Hootsuite pricing 2026: plans, costs and when a cheaper tool is enough

Quick recap

  • Billed yearly, a Hootsuite seat costs $99 (Standard), $199 (Professional) or $399 (Advanced) a month before tax, shown as €99, €199 and €399 in the EU; Enterprise is quoted.

  • There is no free plan: the free option is a 14-day trial without a card, capped at 10 to 20 posts a day, with no bulk scheduling.

  • Keyword auto-replies, Instagram comment-to-DM and AI smart replies start on Professional; assigning and routing messages needs Advanced.

  • Ten users on Professional cost $23,880 a year, so teams that mostly answer comments can save by moving that work to a per-workspace tool.

Hootsuite's Standard plan costs $99 per user per month, Professional $199 and Advanced $399, billed annually and before tax. Enterprise is quoted on request. There is no free plan, only a 14-day free trial without a credit card, and your bill grows with every seat you add.

Prices checked on hootsuite.com on 25 September 2026, on the Hootsuite plans page. Its FAQ quotes US dollars, while visitors in the EU see the same figures in euros (€99, €199, €399).

Hootsuite plans compared: price, accounts and inbox features

Hootsuite sells four plans. Here is what each one gives the people who handle comments and messages, based on the feature comparison table on the plans page.

As Advanced

None of the four plans has a line for hiding or deleting comments automatically. If spam, scams and insults under your posts or ads are what you need to control, ask Hootsuite how it handles them before you buy.

How much does Hootsuite cost for 1, 3, 5 or 10 users?

Hootsuite asks for a seat for each team member who needs access. The table assumes all seats sit on the same plan, with annual billing and no tax.

Team size

Standard

Professional

Advanced

1 user

$99/mo ($1,188/yr)

$199/mo ($2,388/yr)

$399/mo ($4,788/yr)

3 users

$297/mo ($3,564/yr)

$597/mo ($7,164/yr)

$1,197/mo ($14,364/yr)

5 users

$495/mo ($5,940/yr)

$995/mo ($11,940/yr)

$1,995/mo ($23,940/yr)

10 users

$990/mo ($11,880/yr)

$1,990/mo ($23,880/yr)

$3,990/mo ($47,880/yr)

For inbox work, the tiers split on automation and routing, and each step up is multiplied by headcount. A five-person care team that wants keyword auto-replies needs Professional, close to $12,000 a year; if it also wants messages routed to the right person, Advanced doubles that to $23,940.

On the Hootsuite Standard plan, the 10-account cap counts profiles, not people: five Facebook Pages and five Instagram profiles already fill it.

Costs outside the seat price

  • Tax. Every price on the page excludes applicable taxes, such as VAT in the EU.

  • Monthly billing. Available on the three paid plans at a higher per-user rate than annual billing; the page does not show the amount.

  • Branded short links. Custom vanity URLs, available from Professional, are sold separately.

  • Enterprise-only add-ons. Extras such as brand review monitoring are listed only under Enterprise, which has no public price.

Hootsuite nonprofit pricing

Nonprofits can apply for a reduced rate through the Hootgiving program, which covers Standard, Professional and Advanced and advertises savings of up to 60%.

Is there a free version of Hootsuite?

No. The plans page lists three paid plans and Enterprise, with no free tier. What you can do is try Standard, Professional or Advanced free for 14 days. No card is required, and the trial does not convert into a paid subscription by itself: you choose a plan and enter payment details if you want to continue.

The trial comes with caps: 10 to 20 posts per organization per day depending on the plan, and no bulk scheduling. Articles that still describe a free Hootsuite plan are out of date.

Free alternatives to Hootsuite

  • Meta Business Suite is free according to Meta's help center. It plans and publishes posts, stories and reels, and brings messages and comments from your Facebook Page, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp Business account into one inbox with automations for common questions. Our guide to Meta Business and its tools covers the setup.

  • TikTok and YouTube have their own free creator studios for posting and comment settings: see our guides to TikTok Studio and YouTube Studio.

  • Blabla keeps a free tier for comment and DM work: 100 actions a month, shared by several users.

Native tools cost nothing but cover one platform family each, so a brand on four networks juggles several apps.

Who should stay on Hootsuite

Hootsuite earns its per-seat price when one team runs the whole social operation from it. Stay if several of these apply:

  • You publish a lot, on many networks. Each paid plan schedules unlimited posts, bulk-uploads up to 350 at once from a .csv file, suggests posting times per network and includes 100 monthly credits for Wisdom, the built-in AI assistant.

  • Content goes through approvals. Advanced adds approval workflows, internal comments on drafts and the option to suspend scheduled posts.

  • You track the market, not only your accounts. Quick Search covers 7 days of mentions on Standard and 30 days from Professional, which also forecasts trends 90 days ahead; Enterprise adds sources such as Instagram, LinkedIn and Reddit, 13 months of history and Lumen by Talkwalker (more than 150 million sources in 187 languages).

  • Management expects reports. Custom reports from Professional, benchmarking against 5 competitors on Standard and 20 on Professional and Advanced, shared reports and .xlsx exports on Advanced, ROI reporting on Enterprise.

  • Paid social runs from the same place. Every plan manages ad campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X, and Professional can boost your best organic posts automatically.

  • IT has requirements. Enterprise brings single sign-on, compliance integrations, a Salesforce Service Cloud connector, Parliament for employee advocacy and expert-led onboarding.

Suites, schedulers and engagement tools each solve a different problem; this comparison of social media management tool types helps place Hootsuite among them.

When is a cheaper tool enough?

Look at who holds each seat and what they do with it. A cheaper setup usually covers you when:

  • most seats belong to people who only answer comments and messages;

  • you moved up to Professional or Advanced for inbox automation or routing, not for listening or reports;

  • custom reports, trend forecasts and listening searches go unopened from one month to the next;

  • your hardest problem is spam, scams or insults under posts and ads, day and night (keeping watch over Facebook ad comments is a job in itself).

In that case, keep Hootsuite seats for the people who publish and report, and move the inbox work to a tool priced per workspace. Here is the budget for a three-person team in the EU (annual billing, before tax):

Setup

What it covers

Per month

Per year

3 Hootsuite Professional seats

Publishing, listening, reports, inbox with auto-replies

€597

€7,164

1 Hootsuite Standard seat + Blabla Pro

€2,016

Meta Business Suite + Blabla Pro

€828

The last two rows mean running two tools, and the inbox team gives up Hootsuite's listening and advanced reports. Before trialling a dedicated inbox, list what to test with our checklist for picking comment management software.

Where Blabla fits next to (or instead of) Hootsuite

Blabla can take over what you pay Hootsuite's upper tiers for, but not the calendar: it cannot publish yet, and its scheduler is announced as coming soon, so posts keep going out from Hootsuite or a native tool. Keyword replies, comment-to-DM on Instagram and Facebook, and AI answers drafted from your FAQ (automatic or held for review), the features that move a Hootsuite team up to Professional, all come with Blabla Standard, up to 5,000 automation runs. Everyone works from one shared inbox with assignment, while Blabla hides spam, scam links and abuse on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube; Pro adds comments under ads and dark posts. The price covers the workspace and everyone in it, excluding VAT: Standard at 29 € per month (19 € when paid yearly), Pro at 99 € (69 € yearly), plus a free plan and a 7-day trial with no card. See Blabla vs Hootsuite or the pricing page.

The bottom line

Start from your seat list and tag each person as publisher, analyst or responder. Publishers and analysts get full value from a Hootsuite seat; responders are the seats worth pricing against a per-workspace inbox.
