Manychat pricing in 2026: what you actually pay

Manychat costs between $0 and $199 a month in 2026. Billed monthly, Essential is $17, Pro $39, Business $99 and Advanced $199. Paying yearly lowers that to $14, $29, $69 and $139 a month. Every plan includes a set number of Active Contacts, and each extra contact adds a fee to your bill.

That last part is where real costs drift from the pricing card. Since March 2, 2026, Manychat bills by the people who interact with you each month, not by the size of your list. The prices below were checked on Manychat's pricing page on September 25, 2026. They exclude tax, and the final price depends on your billing country.

Manychat plans and prices at a glance

Essential and Pro come with a 14-day free trial, the Free plan needs no credit card, and Manychat refunds a first purchase canceled within 30 days (plan guide).

What each plan adds

• Free: up to 4 live automations (comment-to-DM included), a basic unified inbox, and Manychat branding on your messages.

• Essential: unlimited automations, no branding, an inbox with organization and reminders, and email support.

• Pro: Manychat AI, broadcasts (not available on Instagram or TikTok), advanced automations, custom inbox labels and rules, integrations, API access, up to 10k emails, and 2 inbox seats (Pro plan).

• Business: unlimited channels, a shared team inbox with assignments, priority support, 3 inbox seats and up to 30k emails.

• Advanced: 10 users, 5 inbox seats, up to 100k emails and a lower cost per contact at high volume.

How Active Contacts work

An Active Contact is a person who interacts with your account through Manychat during the billing month: they send a DM, comment on a post that runs an automation, reply to a story, or receive a message from you. One person counts once, however many messages you exchange, and the count resets every billing cycle, even on annual plans (Active Contacts guide).

Your follower count doesn't matter. Engagement does: a Reel that asks people to comment a keyword turns every commenter into an Active Contact for that month. Our guide to Instagram comment-to-DM automation explains how those campaigns work.

Overage fees per extra contact

For Advanced, the help center describes custom overage pricing, while the pricing page displays $0.004 and $0.0028 per contact. Overages land on your next invoice. Manychat notifies you at 70%, 90% and 100% of your limit, and you can cap overages under Settings, Billing, Subscription. Once the cap is reached, automations keep running only for people already active that month. Upgrade within the same billing cycle and the overage already incurred is forgiven.

What a month really costs: worked examples

This table applies Manychat's published prices to different monthly Active Contact counts, on monthly billing and before tax.

Two things stand out. Essential only stays cheaper than Pro below about 470 Active Contacts. And Pro and Business cost the same at 3,700 Active Contacts, so a busy Pro account can end up paying more than it would on Business.

Example (fictional creator): Rowan, a fitness coach, posts one "comment PLAN" Reel a month. A normal month brings about 1,800 commenters and 200 other DMs, so 2,000 Active Contacts: Pro at $39 covers it. Then a Reel takes off and 9,000 people interact that month. Staying on Pro costs $39 plus 6,500 extra contacts at $0.05, so $364. Upgrading to Business before the cycle ends costs $99 plus 1,500 extra contacts at $0.025, so $136.50.

Monthly or annual billing?

Annual billing saves about 18% on Essential, 26% on Pro and 30% on Business and Advanced, but the full year is charged upfront. You can move from monthly to annual at any time, with unused days credited, but not back: an annual plan can't switch to monthly or be downgraded until its term ends. On annual plans, Active Contacts and overages are still counted and billed every month (plan guide).

A practical rule: stay on monthly billing until your Active Contact count has been stable for a few months, then commit to the plan that matches it. You can check usage anytime under Settings, then Subscription in the Billing section, and follow Active Contacts in Insights.

Costs that aren't on the pricing card

• WhatsApp messages. Manychat charges for each WhatsApp template message delivered, based on its category and the recipient's country, paid from your Manychat Wallet. A marketing template costs $0.0987 to a French number and $0.0287 to North America. From October 1, 2026, service messages are charged too, after 1,000 free ones per phone number each month (WhatsApp pricing guide).

• SMS. SMS runs through your own Twilio account, and Twilio bills you directly. A single SMS holds 160 characters, so a 480-character message is billed as three (SMS guide).

• Extra inbox seats. $25 per seat on Pro, Business and Advanced, up to each plan's maximum.

• Several brands. Each Manychat account is billed separately, with its own plan and contact limit, so an agency running five client accounts pays five subscriptions.

• Legacy accounts. Accounts created before March 2, 2026 may still be on the old Pro pricing, which scaled with the total size of your contact list. Manychat is moving them over country by country and emails each account first (legacy pricing).

Is Manychat worth the money?

For creators and brands that sell through DMs, often yes. Manychat is an Official Meta Business Partner and a TikTok partner, connects seven channels (Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and email) and offers more than 60 ready-made templates. If you run comment-to-DM funnels on Instagram and follow up on WhatsApp or by email, it covers the whole path.

The trade-offs: your bill follows engagement, so a good month costs more; AI features start at Pro; and Manychat AI is still in beta, with AI Comments replying only to positive comments on Instagram (AI Comments).

Reviews are split. On September 25, 2026, Manychat scored 4.6 out of 5 on Capterra (72 reviews) and 2.1 out of 5 on Trustpilot (303 reviews), where many reviewers complain about support and pricing.

One point for brands: Manychat is built to reply and convert. As of September 2026, its help center doesn't document comment moderation, such as hiding spam or hateful comments.

How to pay less
